The silence of the Swedish summer night (ab. 1900)
The silence of the Swedish summer night. My restoration and colorization of an image in the SCIF (Sweden)
archive. The archive does not give any information on boat, location, date or photographer. My estimate is that
the photo was shot around 1900.
Update:
Former director of the Swedish National Maritime Museum Hansi Olsson has confirmed that the yawl in the picture is Pallakis, built by Östman and Svensson in Rosersberg (Stockholm) in 1893 for infantry general Christoffer Lemchen. The boat was designed by Carl Smith. Later she was owned by Håkan Rydén, who
had her renovated. Pallakis is now displayed at the National Maritime Museum in Stockholm.
