Steel barque Carradale (ab. 1910)
Four-masted steel barque Carradale, built in 1889 by A. Stephen & Sons, Glasgow, for J.A. Roxburgh, also Glasgow. Carradale was sold to Norwegian owners in 1913. Already in the following year the ship was sold to Finnish shipowner J. Tengström, who in 1923 sold it to Gustaf Erikson of Åland Islands (Finland). For some reason Carradale was sold to be scrapped already in 1924. My restoration and colorization of Allan C. Green´s photo in the State Library Victoria archive. No date is given. My estimate is early 1910s. Her dimensions were: 87,03×11,88×7,18 meters [285'7"×39'0"×23'7"] and tonnage 2085 GRT and 1982 NRT.
