Beduin, designed by William Fife (photo 1931)

Sam Eyde´s Fifteen Metre class yacht Beduin, designed by William Fife III, photographed in 1931 by Anders B. Wilse. My colorization of the original image in the Maritime Museum of Norway archive (Digital Museum). She was built in 1910 by Fife & Son for L. Bierman as Sophia-Elisabeth. In 1913/1914 the boat was bought by Norwegian G. Eyde, who renamed her Beduin. Later she was named Magda X.

"The IYRU Fifteen Metre class yachts are constructed to the First International rule of 1907. A total of twenty 15mR yachts were built between 1907 and 1917, the four that have survived are still actively raced."
