T/S Regin (1920s)
The Stockholm Rederi AB Svea´s turbine steamship Regin photographed by Malmö photographer Otto Ohm in the 1920s (prob.). The ship, built by Oskarshamns Varv in 1921 (several years late because of lack of metals during WWI). The 71 m passenger ship (which also carried some freight) was from 1921 to 1939 on routes from Copenhagen (alternatively Malmö) to Stockholm and either Sundsvall or Luleå further north.
After WW2 Regin was primarily used on routes from Stockholm or Norrtälje to Turku, Finland.
In 1963 the ship was sold to Rederi Ab Göteborg - Frederikshavn, for use on the route Göteborg - Frederikshamn (Denmark). It was renamed Prinsessan Regina.
Prinsessan Regina was scrapped in Göteborg in 1967. See Less
