Loading lumber on steamer Albert Soper in Menominee, Michigan in 1898. My colorization of a picture in the Library of Congress archive (Detroit Publishing Co.).
The ship Albert Soper was built in 1881 at Duncan Robertson & Co., Grand Haven, Michigan. The first owners were Greiling Brothers. In 1920 the ship was sold to the British West Indies
and is reported to have sunk in Governor´s Harbor sometimes later. .
