Time In The Sun
Early this morning, over the intercom I heard what I thought was a goat straining and one time giving a low baa. I got up and went out to check the goats and saw a hoof sticking out the back of Patches. I worked around and got the other hoof out and after awhile I could feel the nose. It took awhile longer and the head came on out then the body squirted on out and I swung it on around to the front of her to lick. I wiped it off some with a towel and went into the house to Finish getting up and dressed. By the time I got back out there she was standing up and had another one laying by where her hind end was. I took the first one and weighed it at 11 pounds and took it in the house for Kathy to dry off. I fed the other goats and put out the hay. I got the first kid from Kathy and put it in the birthing stall and weighed the 2nd kid at 8 pounds 1oz (a lot smaller, it must have got up and walked out of her) I showed them where the light in the barrel was and then this afternoon put them out in the warm sun for a while. I got them introduced to the dogs this morning too. They all got in real close but when I got the camera, Big Guy hung back; He said “he had a good smell, thank you”.
