6 Traded a hen for 2 kids
A little less than a week ago I noticed the porch pretty kitty laying on the floor by the hay with her 4 kittens and not coming in to eat. The next morning she was laying by herself, not letting the kittens near her. I saw the hair gone on a spot on her back, maybe 1 ½” by 2 ½”. Later she had moved to the bottom part of the dog house on the front porch, then to the floor of the barn and back. I never see her move, and the way she lays I wonder if her back legs are paralyzed or if it’s just hard to move around with the muscles on her back messed up. She abandoned her kittens and they are about to young to be off her, 3 have died but I’ve kept this one going so far, it is the one looking out of the hens back ( www.flickr.com/photos/8809133@N05/1951923836/ ). Unlike most cats they don’t seem to like milk replacer to well. This one has had some scraps of deer meat it eats real well. Since it can’t snuggle up with its litter mates, it did real good last night with the goat kids. I think the donkey got hold of the Mother cat and did a job on her. One thing a man down the road a piece said, 35 years ago, about having animals is “If you don’t have them, you can’t lose them”
