Life on the Peripheral
The main casualty of my surgery is my vision. I lost most of the peripheral vision in both eyes, on the right-hand side. This means I can not drive a car.
It makes looking around and walking at the same time [like shopping] a little challenging. Anyone passing me on the right side will appear or disappear abruptly. But I can read and watch TV...and I don’t have to learn Braille yet!
Since one of the other things that was possible was to lose my voice, I think I will keep things the way they are.
