Koi Fish Soda Can Mural

This mural was an 8th grade group project involving approximately 100 13 and 14 year old students at Eisenhower Middle School in Wyckoff, NJ. Students first voted on the mural design before collecting, cleaning and carefully cutting open hundreds of aluminum cans. The flattened cans were then carefully glued and nailed down onto wood panels before being installed onto the wall.

Students were involved in every step of the process, from design to installation. The finished work is 10ft x 12ft and is composed of approx 2000 recycled cans- all collected from the school cafeteria or staff/student homes.
