These two images are altered versions of photographs done by the 30s and 40s street photographer Weegee - one of a pair kissing at the movies, and the other of Marilyn Monroe. This is one of my favourite paintings that I've done - I love both the subject and the color scheme. I am also really proud of my placement of the paint, especially for the man's hand in the left image and the entirety of the portrait of Monroe. This is the first painting that I really managed to achieve a dark to light layering of the paint, and I think that that really helped to add life and dimension to all of the figures.
