Satin Buttons
This was my wedding dress that I wore on November 26, 1982, it was the same dress that my mother wore on November 9, 1941. My mother was so pleased that I chose to wear her beautiful gown that she had bought at Hudson's in downtown Detroit.
The dress was made of the most beautiful heavy satin that I ever saw. It was a faint blush pink in color with a full length train that I carried in a hoop on my wrist at the reception.
One of the things I loved most about the dress was the satin-covered buttons. I always thought that it was a fancy detail that was only typical of beautiful gowns. There were 8 of these satin loop buttons on each sleeve and 32 buttons on the back. No zipper on the dress. There were 48 buttons in all!
