Popcorn, June 18, 2011
The popcorn has pollinated and now the kernels are growing in the ears. I hope to harvest it around the end of July - the kernels should be dry by then. If not, I will wait a little longer.
After this harvest I will need to replenish the soil to make it ready for another crop. I may do another planting of corn, but this time I will put in some Mirai Sweet Corn and I have ordered a new bi-colored Mirai. It looked so beautiful in the picture that I couldn't resist it.
Gardening tips are in my monthly email desert gardening newsletter - request it by sending me an email: gardeningnewsletter@sweettomatotestgarden.com. No Spam, I promise.
