The Last Supper
The Cenacle is the site of the Last Supper and the usual gathering place in Jerusalem for the apostles.
The Cenacle is also known as the Upper Room as it is on the second storey. A large cenotaph on the ground floor known as Nabi D'aud houses the tomb of King David (the prophet David), a sacred place for muslims.
The current Gothic-style building is believed to be constructed around the 12th century. This room was transformed into a mosque by the Ottomans in the 16th century. They were less concerned with the site's Christian traditions than with the Tomb of King David below.
