Scope/SequenceThis will be at the end of the school year when we are finishing discussing how human’s influence and use the oceans.
ObjectiveSWBAT:
•Write an article on how human’s influence the ocean
•Design a magazine layout
•Design an magazine cover that incorporates all the articles from the class
Implementation
ProceduresStudents will be given a rubric on how to write a magazine article. They are to research one topic on how humans influence the oceans. They are to summarize their research into a half-page article written in magazine form (using Publisher or Word). After handing in all the articles, electronically and hardcopy, we will, as a class, design a magazine cover for our magazine using Flickr magazine cover design. Students will be given a copy of the class magazine.
Time AllotmentStudents will be given one week to research and write article, and one day in class to create the magazine cover.
