Jackson Hole
This (obviously) is not the famous Jackson Hole, but rather a much less known feature North of the Santa Paula Canyon Punch Bowels.
I decided to hike up there today because the weather was predicting a quit unusual rainstorm.
I can't easily describe all the emotions traveling up here evoked. The last time I was up here was over thirty years ago, all very well worn memories.
Today it was cool and a slight drizzle. I got very wet and almost cold. I wish I could have done photographic justice to the view, but I was not prepared either mentally and physically for the day.
Everything was very wet and slippery so getting the perfect shot was not in the books. I would have been more brave if I had not been alone. I slipped (not here) twice on this hike, so caution was at the top of my mind,
If it sounds like I did not have a good time, then credit my crappy prose. It was great. I was soaked almost to the core, but a good shower at home restored me to fuzzy warmth.
Oh and a small technical sadness, my main camera, a D90, failed on the hike. After searching on the net to compare notes, I have the BGLOD (blinking green light of death). My Nikon is 14 months old, so we shall see how the gods treat me.
Cheers.
