Pencil Sharpener
Going through my boxes of junk I found several boxes of cheap colored pencils. I've exploded bundles of crayons but don't remember doing the same thing with wooden pencils. Moderately different.
Had a different bike ride today. I had been invited to go sit at a new little zen center in Ventura at the Bell Arts Studios. I wanted to do a bike ride but figured out I could bike to Ventura, sit, listen to the talk and go onward. When I got there I realized that the guy giving the talk was someone who I knew from his blog. It was nice to meet him in person. The sit was fine, the talk good. I've never sat after a longish bike ride and the result was different than I'm used to.
When I left I realized after a few block that I had a flat tire. I replaced the flat only to have it go flat again. So I repaired the original tube and set out again. A few miles later it was flat again. I tried calling home at this point but Kathy was out. Looking into the flat more closely I finally found a small gash with a piece of glass imbedded inside. the glass fragment didn't show up when I ran my finger around the tube, but when inflated it stuck out enough to tear open the tube.
This was the charm and I got home without any other problems. It was getting tedious as I use a small frame pump that needs at least sixty pumps to get near full. the other good thing was that I noticed my tire was very threadbare. After a few more rides I probably would have lost the tube by exploding through the threads on the tire.
All is repaired and ready for next week.
Cheers.
