Gummy Burn
I've seen the videos of gummi bears (sugar) burning in potassium chlorate on the internet. I have a bit of potassium perchlorate around (after several weeks of electrolytic conversion of salt) so decided to try the same demonstration with that.
Basically you melt the oxidizer and drop in the gummi bear. I wore a face shield during the experiment since I had never done it before. It's apparently a predictable event since I did it four times with no problems.
I got my trellis painted and it looks good. Maybe when the day cools off some more I'll transplant a few tomatoes and sow some pumpkin seeds.
