Winter's Spots. Periwinkle, Vinca sp., Oudeschans, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Among the few flowering plants still showing colors this Winter is Vinca, Periwinkle. There are two common kinds: major and minor. They are hardly to be distinguished leading great Carolus Linnaeus to comment: 'who therefore mixes them up hardly errs'. Such a one is me😉... The flower in the photo shows clear signs of winter rotting, those spots.
