Bright in the Rain. Zandeschia rehmannii, Pink Calla Lily, Hoftuin, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
In the rain I hurried from the H'Art Museum to the Oudeschans, but just had to stop at the pretty little Hoftuin. I was drawn there by the very bright pink of these great Callas. They were originally seen and collected for the Western World by Anton Rehmann (1840-1917) who traveled in South Africa 1875-1877 and 1879-1880. They're from Natal, South Africa. The scientific description (1883) is by Heinrich Gustav Adolf Engler (1844-1930),
