In the Sun. Syrphus ribesii, Common Banded Hoverfly, on Tulipa 'Suncatcher', Hortus Botanicus, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Except for Bees most insects this morning were clearly sluggish from the cold. Just a few more or less occluded rays from the Sun caught well by the 'Suncatcher' Tulip of the so-called Triumph Group. In any case, a few slow Hoverflies had found their way to Flower Brightness. Here's a Common Banded Hoverfly, quietly absorbing warmth.
