Back to Back. Common Carder Bee, Bombus pascuorum, on Nigella hispanica, Spanish Love-in-a-Mist, Hortus Botanicus, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Not many insects about this morning in the Hortus. And many seemed lethargic. This Carder Bee was buzzing a bit and creeping around on Spanish Love-in-a-Mist flowers but without much enthusiasm. Autumn is clearly in the air.
