Eden. Mural, Haarlemmerstraat 24-26, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
The Haarlemmerstraat in Amsterdam leads from the city centre to the Westerpark and on to the city of Haarlem, as its name signifies. Lots of interesting buildings along that street and most are clearly identified. But on a leisurely amble this morning my eye caught this pretty mural on the second floor of Haarlemmerstraat 24-26. It's obviously a depiction of Biblical Eden with Adam and Eve in the foreground. Serpents and lots of other animals are frolicking but this must have been before the Fall: no 'apple' and neither skirts of figleaves to cover 'shameful' parts.
I've searched around but haven't been able to identify the artist nor when this mural was made. Anyone out there in the know? Please get back to me!
