Attracted by Yellow. Pantaloon Bee, Dasypoda hirtipes, on Dandelion, De Hoge Dijk, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

It's just a bit early in the year for them. Pantaloon Bees thrive especially in May and later. So I was lucky to see this one already foraging in a field with lots of Bright Dandelions. They're solitary insects and tend to their own burrows but they often congregate in suitable, mostly sandy areas.
