Black in the Canaries. Glossy Ibis, Plegadis falcinellus, Parque Tony Gallardo, Meloneras, Gran Canaria, Spain
The wonderful Parque Tony Gallardo is devoted to 'local' plants. There's a smallish waterway and lots of marvellous plants and trees. Of course they attract manifold birds among which this pair of Glossy Ibises. Fantastic.
The park was named for the sculpting artist and socialist politician Antonio Gallardo Navarro (1929-1996), who was also a defender of the native culture of the Canary Islands.
