Winter's Yellow. Cornus mas, Cornelian Cherry, Gaasperplaspark, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

There was a bit of blue in the sky after days of chill and darkness. I betook myself to the Gaasperplas, Gaasper Lake, on the edge of the south of Amsterdam. Not many signs yet of awakening Nature; but I did see some Robins preparing to nest. A bit early I would think. And then there was this bright, yellow Cornelian Cherry, that I've admired often in the past. It's just prettily bursting forth from its buds.
