Long-tongued. Lasioglossum calceatum, Sweat or Common Furrow Bee, on Hemp Agrimony, Eupatorium cannabinum, Hortus Botanicus, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Unless they're after pollen, the great variety of insects that visit Hemp Agrimony will have a hard time foraging if they do at all. Once you've looked carefully at the individual Agrimony florets you'll understand a critter has to have a pretty long tongue to access the Sweet Place. Think Butterfly, for example. Other insects, too. But also pretty Sweat Bee, Lasioglossum calceatum. I've added the inset to give an idea of its proboscis and also its face-front with that characteristic yellow clypeus.
