Spring Yellows. Weeping Willow with Waterfall and Double Daffodil visited by Dronefly, Park Sonsbeek, Arnhem, The Netherlands

'No!' cried Sam! 'My picture gives a better overview of Spring!' 'But mine', exclaimed Olymp, 'is a metaphor for industry and diligence with that pollen collecting Dronefly. It's a more fitting tribute to the well-known patron of landowners and manufacture of this area, the Van Sonsbeek family for whom this park is named.'

So their Master put both pictures together: the Weeping Willow in commemoration of a Anna van Sonsbeek, one of many so-named daughters of the family in the seventeenth and eighteenth century. It is said the park is called after one of them. And then in the inset there's Dronefly on a hybrid, double Daffoldil; they're now scattered throughout the park. I was surprised to see our insect out because it was only 7C.
