Pretty Fancy. Ypsilandra thibetica, Hortus Botanicus, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
In these pages I've mentioned the intrepid Catholic Missionaries to China who were also avid zoologists and botanists (e.g. www.flickr.com/photos/87453322@N00/17118385195/in/photoli...). Many of their finds were sent to France and fell into the hands of the great taxonomist Adrien René Franchet (1834-1900). I don't know whether this particular plant from Tibet was collected by Abbé Pierrre Armand David (1826-1900) many of whose finds were meticulously studied by Franchet. I do know it was first described by him in 1888 and published with a nice drawing.
