Golden. Falling Star, Crocosmia aurea, Harendermolen, Groningen, The Netherlands
My friends just to the south of Groningen have an oasis of a garden in otherwise entirely green fields. There's a pretty pond - always lovely for a Frog like myself - and many borders with a profusion of flowers.
A lot of choice for Olymp, but his Master settled on this Falling Star, a golden Crocosmia. It hails from southern Africa from where it was imported into England in the middle of the nineteenth century. It used to be called Tritonia aurea and came from the area of George in what was then known as Caffraria, the eastern Cape.
