Mint Condition. Episyrphus balteatus, Marmalde Hoverfly, on Crocus, Our Garden, Venlo, The Netherlands
It's really an unseasonably warm late Winter with temperatures up to 18 C. Quite amazing. And that weather brought out lots of insects.
Here's a Marmalade Hoverfly; if you look at its wings, for example, you will see they are entirely in mint condition. Nu sight of wear yet. Amazingly beautiful; and she's happily collecting pollen on Crocus.
