Everything's coming up Lavender. Lavender in Muggia, Istria, Friuli Venezia Julia, Italy

And then we took a Delfino Verde ferry from Trieste across the Baia di Muggia of the Gulf to the northernmost part of Istria. The town of Muggia was once a coastal swamp squeezed between the sea and the hills; the area was also known as Laurel Town. But Istria is actually better known for its beautiful lavender. In one of the picturesque streets of the town we came upon a shop entirely devoted to Lavender and its colors. And then climbing up to the Castle - private and closed to the public - Lavender Aromas enveloped us. Later along the beach Lavender on the landside and the Perfect Blue of the Gulf provided a 'cool' view in the hot sun.
