Green Cucumber Spider and Green Abdomen-marked Spider look so much alike that you can't tell which is which without dissection. For that you have to kill them, of course. Folklore has it that such will bring on bad luck and rain as well. But that wasn't my reason for desisting. I just don't see the point of killing a spider or insect - or for that matter anything - only in order to discover its precise name...
