Autumn Blush. Pyrrhocoris apterus, Firebug, on Mallow, Malva moschata, Océ-weerd, Meuse Corridor, Venlo, The Netherlands

Here's one alone, a Firebug, Pyrrhocoris apterus. You've probably mostly seen them in large groups and chances are pairs were procreating, 'randy' as these perfectly innocuous bugs are. You might even blush pink or scarlet when you realise their Happy Conjugation can take up to seven days.

Looking carefully, I did spy another on a nearby Mallow Flower; whether they intended to meet for tea... who knows. But I hurried home in the nasty wind for that Hot Brew.
