Lace Beauty under Sombre Skies. Sweet Cicely, Myrrhis odorata, and Lasius niger, Common Garden Ant, Hortus Botanicus, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

It is said that an infusion of Sweet Cicely besides being aromatic also gives one the ability to see beauty beneath ugliness, today beneath Sombre and Glum, Rainy Skies. Moreover folklore has it that it's a remedy, too, against elfshot, those invisible arrows shot off by evil-willing invisible elves to cause sudden pains such as those of rheumatisms and side stitches and the like. Here's a plant in the Hortus Botanicus so don't take your pick.

Common Garden Ants (Lasius niger) like foraging on Sweet Cicely for nectars. Here's one to look at more closely in the inset.
