Foreign Colors. Pterocarpus indicus, Burmese Rosewood, in a Chrysanthemum Bed, Taman Botani Perdana, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Well, I took the brandnew - driverless - Kajang MRT-line to 1-Utama to look at my favorite Rooftop Botanical Garden... but it's open only on the weekends. So after a coffee in the Rainforest (including waterfalls!) in the middle of the enormous shopping mall, I hurried back to the Taman Botani Perdana (once called the Taman Tasik Perdana). Now it prides itself on being a botanical garden.

It's a pretty place and there are lots of colors but many of them are those of non-native plants such as these bright Chrysanthemums, originally from China and Japan.

The enormous tree is a wonderful Burmese Rosewood, Pterocarpus indicus. In the background you can just see some beds of Orchids. After a rest in the shade, I made my way back to my quarters to prepare for a few long-haul flights...
