Comely Hero. Morpho helenor, Common Blue Morpho, Neotropical Butterfly Park, Lelydorp, Wanica, Suriname

Who's read Vergil's great Aeneid will doubtless remember the exciting and deadly battle between the Greeks and the Trojans over one of Ilium's towers. It collapsed killing all of its defenders in a rain of timbers and fire but for one Lycus and comely Helenor. Both died soon as well, Helenor courageously leaping upon his enemies' spears.

Here's Common Blue Morpho - what a drab name for someone named after Helenor; and too 'Morpho' means beautiful or comely.

Anyway, I saw this pretty Lady in the Neotropical Butterfly Park we visited at Lelydorp not far from Paramaribo the other day.

Our flight today into Georgetown was happily rather more stable than the flitting movements of Morpho back in Suriname... I was happy to have seen her resting so Sony could take this picture.

PS Internet is rather problematic here, so please bear with me.
