Seascape. Sunset over Nusa Penida and a Rock Skipper, Istiblennius sp., Tanjung Mangsit, Lombok, Indonesia

Last night's Sunset was amazingly Orange! There it is in the inset over Tanjung Mangsit on the left in the photo with Nusa Penida - an island between Bali and Lombok - on the horizon.

This morning I climbed again on those Mangsit Rocks. If you take a look in the ever refreshing and flushing rock pools with a thundering sea just a few metres away, you'll see lots of interesting things. Rock formations, sediments, crabs of various sorts and little fish, often Rock Skippers. Istiblennius - which one I don't know - is quite shy and Sony had to be very patient as I often awash in Brine crouched on rocks above one of those pools.

Sitting there quietly as Rana Pipiens behooves, I noticed how one of the Fishes I was watching would return to a rocky space time and again. It'd go off about 40 cm. away on a ledge, sit there for perhaps a minute and then skittle back for maybe 3 or 4 seconds. I wondered why.

I moved to another angle and then saw in that crevice what I presume are our Creature's eggs. Whether this is maternal or paternal oversight I don't know. Sony happily took a shot, and we hastened away under a Marine Spray.
