Black and White on Green. Lasius niger, Common Garden Ant, on Sweet Cicely, Myrrhis odorata, Prinsentuin, Groningen, The Netherlands

In the chilly and rainy weather I was drawn anyway to the delightful Prinsentuin, not far away quite in the centre of the City. In the small herbal garden there Sweet Cicely, Myrrhis odorata, was just coming into bloom. Drawn to it besides myself were tiny Garden Ants, Lasius niger.
