Soothing Pink. Aquilegia sp., Columbine, Albert Part, Auckland, New Zealand
After a long flight from LA, Albert Park in the heart of Auckland provided everything for a soothing rest in sun-and-shade. Amid extravagant flower beds, I dozed and read on the immaculate lawns.
Here's Columbine, an Aquilegia hybrid. Like most New Zealanders it isn't originally from here. But the gardeners have adopted Columbine from the Northern Hemisphere, and it thrives amazingly. This beautiful Pink is the proof.
PS So sorry flickr has re-done our photo pages. It's now extremely hard to comment on anyone's photos or to add photos to groups. Maybe all will be normal in a couple of days... I certainly hope so.
