Hay was an important cargo for the inland ships like this praam on the Zuiderzee. In transport horse traction was very important so almost every large town had a Haymarket next to the water. This vessel from the East side of the Zuiderzee is highly laden with hay. For that purpose the boom was hanged higher on the mast and the helmsman stood on a raised construction to have sufficient visibility forward.
