he called to tell me that some folks had gotten a cat and asked me to pick it up after work.

it took me a second to realize he wasn't talking about a kitten,

but rather

a mountain lion.

yep.

they only wanted the hide, not the meat.

gassed up the car before picking it up

so as not to pull up at the gas pump with a carcass in the back of my car.

yep.

guess what was for dinner?

yep.
