8:20 am drop off at school.
Then back home for cleaning, laundry, making and baking of cinnamon rolls, packing of snacks.
An hour drive to meet a dear friend while she's back for a brief visit, to share hugs and catch up over a quick coffee, to see her growing belly with babe inside.
Then, on up to the mountain to chaperone the school night-ski trip: better snow, milder temps, more fun, and more mellow than expected.
Afterwards, Pizza Hut with the all the kids (How many years has it been since I've set foot inside a P.H.? Over twenty.) The boys rode the school bus back while I had an hour in the car and the darkness to myself with the radio. Met back at school, 11:15 pm.
In the car on the way home he turned and said to me, "We ditched you back there on the mountain, Mom."
My reply: "Oh yeah? How do you know that it wasn't me who ditched you?" Both were true.
13 in a couple of weeks. I'm liking this age a lot.
