quilt-as-you-go log cabin
inspired by the amazing log cabin quilt in suzuko koseki's machine made patchwork, now available in english under the title, patchwork style.

after assembling and quilting each block 'as i went', the blocks were then sewn together. the quilt in the book is tied but i opted not to do that, instead quilting around the edge of each block, then around the center piece (red print) in each block and then one more 'square' between that center piece and the outside edge of each block.
each block starts with a different red print in the center. fabrics used were a mix of new, thrifted, vintage, and used clothing. the backing and binding are both a solid red kona cotton.
