giant puffball!
this was the first thing i saw when i walked up to the back door of the kitchen at work the other morning.
my co-worker at the diner where i work found ten or so giant puffballs while out getting firewood with her husband the other day. she brought the biggest one in for 'show and tell'.
we cut off a slice and sauteed it up with onions and bacon back in the kitchen. it was pretty good, but really, what isn't good fried up with a bunch of bacon?
i brought it home (they'd picked several others) and hopefully it will still produce some spores so we can spread them around our place. they grow here already, but much, much smaller than this.
