bench monday :: sewing room steps

obvious, from the weeds and grass growing in front of the bottom step, that I've spent little time lately up there. it's way too hot up there anyways, but the perfect spot for drying dye plant blossoms, it turns out, so i hauled one of the big drying racks up there.

that said, two days before we went back into the hospital i spent a day manically starting and finishing this short dress/tunic from stashed fabric of plain linen and a tiny brown flowered print i've had forever.

Simplicity 3807. Not entirely happy with the gathering of the bodice (this pattern is made for teens) but will wear it anyways, rumpled or not, alone, over jeans, skirts, or capris like this. Might retry with simpliciy 3750.
