skipping school

to hit the slopes.

he's earned it.

 

i dropped him here at the ski bus stop

sending him up to the mountain for the very first time all on his own.

 

not the best conditions yet,

snow cover a little thin.

but, as they say,

any day skiing (or fishing, or....) is better than a day at school (or work, or....)

 

a small leap of faith,

sent off with warnings about

still-exposed rocks & fallen trees

and strict orders to stick to the marked runs.

 

heck, next year he'll be behind the wheel of a car.
