tour de fleece 2014, final wrap up
1.113 lbs (505 grams) / 1305 yards of 2ply handspun
(+ 13 grams of singles and 7 grams of 3 ply )
mostly spun and plied out-of-doors: on the porch, by the pond, in the yard, by the campfire, at river's edge, in the woods, or in the brewery and with the knitters at the saloon.
more importantly, my goal, was (mostly) achieved:
"will try to spin, ride, or both, each day. if not ride, then hike, paddle, ski, or swim."
summer is SHORT and GLORIOUS in this part of the world, we're working a lot these days, and our children are growing up.
the point was to get out every day and enjoy the world around us, either by myself or together with my husband and two boys (and my parents during their visit), to say YES when an opportunity arose to go camping or fishing rafting or SKIING, or to drop everything in the midst of these busy but LONG summer days for a quick dip in the lake or a lazy bike ride down the road to the creek.
yes, it has been exhausting at times
but summer slips by all to fast.
