'Conceal/Reveal'

Are we ever true to ourselves? Do we ever do exactly what it is we want to do? Do we ever look the way that we really want to look? Do we ever reveal, behave and act like the person whom we wish to be, whom we know is the real us? Or do we simply live for the expectations of others? Are we all liars, concealing ourselves? Do we all say we like, or do not like certain things because we know that others like, or do not like them? Do we sometimes act in a different manner to which we would usually, depending upon the company we are keeping? Are we all simply great illusionists, so much so that sometimes we even find it hard to identify which half of our identity is the truer half - the one we project, or the one that we are? It would seem that the battle in which we have to fight is between who it is we are and who it is we pretend to be for others. Is this battle ever winnable, or are we all enigmatic...even to ourselves?
