'She-Wolf'
Women, in our society, are usually associated with the connotations of being the fairer sex, being the nurturer and the care giver. However, in the wild every so often we are greeted by the dominance of the females. They can be both the defender and the caretaker of their 'nest'. A female can be far more ferocious than a male when the time calls for it. In a lion pack, it is the female mentality in which leads the pack and it is the females who are the principal hunters. The males are the ones who usually hang back, as it were, who wait at home for the huntsman to return. It seems the dynamics of what roles are to be placed onto the males, and what roles are to be placed onto females, are very much dependent upon how it is our species sees itself.
"For the female of the species is more deadly than the male." - Rudyard Kipling
