Hermit Trush waiting for its turn. I have spent more than 1200 hours in the coldest days of winter from mid-January to end of February trying to capture this beauty catching a fish. Well I have not been lucky even though I have some tail shot behind a snow mount catching a fish but I was very unlucky. Since I am working in the morning, I would go after work and the wait time was about 2 hours if it was showing up at all. What made it very hard was the fact that the American Robin was also into that protein diet too but would chase away all birds coming down to the stream. I did get the Robin fishing in all positions but not a chance with the Hermit,
Unfortunately, someone noticed me several times being at that location and one day I arrived and that person was there. The same day, this person posted the exact location on some facebook pages. I knew my chance to get the Hermit Trush fishing was over with the number of people around all the time. Needless to say I was very disappointed. It did not take long for pictures to be posted on popular groups. Ah well...... It is a spot I check every winter for bird drinking or even bathing but nowaday, especially with Covid, there are so many new people with a camera, I am at the stage that I walk away because most of the time, people talk loud, move a lot, etc.... And once a location is given, I don't go back much and lose my interest. Ah well!
